So even though I never met Bob…I was really saddened by the news, because it’s hard to imagine his sensibility not in the world…because knowing that this expansive yet (for some reason what I imagine to be) modest and sensitive thinker and musician was in it, was a strong and it seemed necessary counterforce to much else that we coexist with, that causes one sometimes to despair. Interesting how much one can come to “need,” …the specific presence of others, who are unmet, but “there.” For me, he is such a one.
